Heading up to the Kitsap Peninsula to photograph the wedding of the daughter of an old friend was very much a trip back into time. With the ceremony at the very chapel I went to as a kid, and the area surrounding it having barely changed, it drew up long forgotten memories. Along with the scent of salt water and a heavily laden pine forest, were the familiar sounds of people coming together to celebrate the marriage of two of the nicest people I have ever met. With one cow and one donkey as wedding crashers, the party moved to 20 acres of Pacific Northwest farm and continued into the night. I saw some old friends I hadn’t spoken with in over 30 years and made some new ones as well. The best part? I’m going back in a couple weeks to do it all over again for her lovely sister Sara’s wedding.
