When the Pacific Northwest meets the Las Vegas desert, you know everyone will have a good time! The Paiute Golf Club Resort is one of our favorites because it’s far enough away from the city to be all desert with stunning views, yet still has that Vegas feel to it. Shana and Craig hail from Portland, Oregon and are not far from where we grew up in the rainy Northwest so we already knew the vibe they had and they just ran with it! We loved spending the day with them and their incredible guests and wish them the very best in future endeavors. Special thanks to Ginny and Brandi at The Paiute for making everything go smoothly, as always

Recently the Las Vegas wedding community was rocked hard when we heard that a local venue was not only closing but appeared to have defrauded upwards of 40 couples of not only their money and time, but of their entire wedding day. After the initial shock, the entire community banded together and had a single mission: make sure these people are taken care of.  Collectively, the heart and soul of the Las Vegas wedding vendors rolled up their sleeves and got to work to not only make sure everyone was helped, but to make their wedding shine brighter than they could have imagined. It was through a somewhat panicked phone call that we first met Linda and Jerry, and we immediately felt at ease. When they told us who else was on board we knew right way it would going to rock. Superstars of the day were Canyon Gate Country Club, Naakti Floral, Enchanted Florist, Amelia C and Co., Reverend Judy Irving and High Flyin’ Entertainment.

The traditional Aztec ritual from 2500+ years ago that is now Día de los Muertos or the Day of the Dead was originally around the beginning of August. When the strong Catholic influence took over, they moved the ritual to coincide with All Saints Day and All Souls Day. Regardless of how you see it, it’s hard to avoid the history of the event and with that in mind, we set out to make our own version of a living Catrina. The beautiful model is Kate, who owns Pretty Sick Beauty, and always does a killer job with my hair and color extensions.  One day while sitting in her salon chair, we came up with this idea for our photo shoot.  With the uber talented Amelia of Amelia C & Co. and help from the always talented Enchanted Florist we set out to make a pair of opposing but killer images.

Top Hat might just be the quintessential Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers movie and watching Becky and Tony together might remind you of that famous dancing duo, but watching these two dance will make the silver screen come alive right before your eyes. A very Hollywood couple if ever I saw one, and not in what car they drive or what street they live on, but in the dreamy doe eyed Becky and the lovestruck Tony and how he gazes at his bride. Watch them for a moment and you’ll find fluid movement with a zeal rarely exhibited today for dance and you can’t help but to notice the unparallelled ease with which they both glide across the floor, but most of all it’s how they look at each other. Two people more in love or more perfect for each other you’ll never find.

Alicia and I wanted to wish Arlene and Stephen of Sound Fusion Entertainment and Semper Fi Events two of of the best people we can call friends a very, very happy one year anniversary! We met Arlene and Stephen when we had a booth next to them at a bridal show and I immediately knew they would be the DJs for our wedding which we hadn’t even started planning. Their “happily ever laughter” story is truly one of love and triumph and no two people were more meant for each other than Stephen and Arlene. We feel blessed to call them more than just colleagues and friends. We’ve worked together, done photo sessions with them, laughed and cried together. To us they’re family. We were privileged enough to photograph their wedding and it seems like it was only a month ago. Time flies when you have great people in your life.

Happy first anniversary! Just a very few of our favorites from their wedding.

Awesome floral wizardry by Teresa Stewart Meli and Lil Moe of Enchanted Florist.
The bear walked down with the procession!
An absolute gorgeous setting for the reception at Red Rock County Club.
Fantastic cake by Dane of Simple Elegance in Cake Design. Dane makes one killer cake but has relocated to Tampa, Florida.
And you know it’s on when DJs do a set at their own wedding and they blew the house down!

Make sure to watch their wedding video by the ultra talented crew from Memory Lane Video.
