When LA meets Las Vegas, look out. These two met on stage and the result was a stellar wedding with cool people everywhere. With Dan being a music producer and metal band front man, we had high energy and a boy band revival while lovely Brynne stole the show with her infectious smile and ever flowing grace. I could have photographed these two all day long and walked away more energized than when I started. You just couldn’t help getting caught up in the wave that was Brynne and Dan.downtown-grand-las-vegas-wedding-photos

Being a photographer is Las Vegas affords us the opportunity to befriend people from all over this glorious planet of ours, and when friends Richard and Bianca sent us their friends Yvet and Gert all the way from The Netherlands, we knew it was going to be a good time. Eschewing the standard fare of a wedding chapel, they instead opted for a trip to the glorious Red Rock National Conservation Area to be wed while basking in the red glow of the rocks and the warm desert lighting. A wedding with a view in the Mojave Desert is an awesome idea, but is made even better when Retro Bakery brings some butter cream amazement, some floral wizardry by Flora Couture and Reverend Kymberli Smith of Flawless Ceremonies at the helm. Afterwards we went to old Las Vegas for some neon fun at Fremont Street and you know we had a blast, but don’t take our word for it, see for yourself!

We were very honored to have so many wonderful friends come and celebrate the coming of our first born. Tara with Scheme Events, along with Keri from Canyon Gate Country Club and the lovely Amelia of Amelia C and Co. put together a wonderful affair that involved mustaches and bow ties. Of course, Alicia took it upon herself to sew 30 bow ties, and some very cool cards with instructions on how to tie them (no easy feat) was done up right by Brooke and Micheal Coxen of the always intrepid Paper and Home. Butter cream goodness was on hand by none other than the fabulous people at Retro Bakery and bright florals were from the excellent people at Flora Couture.

We wanted to thank everyone who helped, and who attended, from the bottom of our hearts.

We’ve been doing the Haskell’s photos for a few years now, and rarely do we have so much fun. This time was no exception, and Brian had picked out some cool spots, not your usual family photo locations, and you know that’s how we roll.

If you missed it, make sure to check out some past fun we had when we stuffed Kari and Brian into the cupcake case and also when they had an all out social media and smart phone battle in our studio last year.

Up before the sun came up ( this is midnight to us you realize), we were off to the end of the road (literally) and then up to the fire ravaged areas of Mt. Charleston for an ethereal look. I knew the fire came down Kyle Canyon but didn’t know just how far it had burned. We were also treated to a killer sunrise on the way there, and if you live in the valley or have ever seen a desert sunrise, you know what I mean.

Want more Retro Bakery action? Here’s all you can handle and more. Follow Kari on Twitter and Instagram, and make sure to like their Facebook page. If that’s not enough buttercream, you should seek help, or post yourself at their counter to pick up some of the new tastiness they keep whipping up.

Punk rock Abbi, Cupcake tossing Lucy, Kari going visions of Ziggy Stardust on us with an awesome silver biker jacket and Brian promising waffles, what more can you ask for?

There never seems to be as much time to hang out with the Haskells as I’d like, and can you blame them? Being the owners of the most awesome bakery in town, as well as two of the most business savvy people I know (If you don’t follow Kari on twitter, you’re missing out). Kari had the bomb idea, silver and pink sparkly clothing for her and the girls and a silver sparkly Christmas tree. Brian would have to tough this one out. I confess, it made me think of Sparkle Motion from Donnie Darko, and I had Duran Duran’s Notorious stuck in my head for days. It’s been awhile since we did a Christmas shoot with them and we were totally stoked! Honestly, how can you not love a couple that uses a set of measuring spoons as mistletoe?
